Season 2: Reloaded of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 added a new perk to the Multiplayer sandbox. Hunter's Instinct is a new T2 perk for the Enforcer combat specialty that reveals an opponent's location on kill, enabling a highly aggressive playstyle in both core and hardcore playlists. In this short guide, we'll explain how to unlock Hunter's Instinct and give a brief overview of how it works.

Hunter's Instinct is unlocked through Armory challenges, which can be completed in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone. As of writing, all Armory unlocks require you to earn 100,000 XP in any playlist. The XP is still accumulated as normal; you'll just be making progress toward your selected Armory unlock in addition to earning account levels and weapon XP.

From the Barracks tab in the Multiplayer or Warzone menu, select Challenges → Armory. This will bring up a list of every available Armory unlock in Black Ops 6. Select the item you wish to unlock—in this case, Hunter's Instinct—and start playing. Any XP you earn will grant progress toward your current Armory unlock.

Hunter's Instinct is a T2 Enforcer perk for Multiplayer. After you eliminate a target, your minimap will mark a nearby foe's location with a red cone for the next three seconds, similar to how the radar works in Destiny. Only the target's general direction is indicated through the cone, but even a moderate amount of map knowledge makes it trivial to deduce where your foe is coming from. Enemies marked this way are not shown as red dots on the minimap.

Based on limited testing, Hunter's Instinct has no notable counters. Ghost, Ninja, and the Recon Specialty don't seem to influence this perk. In terms of synergies, you can pair Hunter's Instinct with Forward Intel via a Perk Greed Wildcard to expand your minimap, giving you a more precise bearing of your target's location.

Since Hunter's Instinct counts as an Enforcer trait (red perk), it's a good idea to spec into the Enforcer combat specialty while using this perk. The increased movement speed and HP regeneration after a kill help promote the run-and-gun playstyle that Hunter's Instinct enables. Pair this with the new Slipstream perk, and you have a highly aggressive loadout for most Multiplayer playlists.
